I'm a teapot
The server refuses to brew coffee because it is a teapot.
What it means
A 418 I'm a teapot response is an April Fools' joke from 1998 (RFC 2324, the Hyper Text Coffee Pot Control Protocol). It is not meant to be implemented seriously, but some servers and APIs include it as an Easter egg.
Common causes
- A server is jokingly indicating it cannot fulfill a coffee-related request.
- An Easter egg in an API or framework.
